Wellington Community Choir 5th Birthday

Gala Concert

Directed by Julian Raphael

with special guest choir: Nota Bene& featuring Djansa Djembe Drummers, Marimba Mojo & other guest musicians.

The Wellington Community Choir was founded five years ago on the basis that people wanted somewhere to come and sing that was easy, affordable and open to all. In that time the choir has gained a reputation of being Wellington’s liveliest and friendliest choir from the warmth and musical fellowship generated in rehearsal and through their engaging and uplifting performances of intercultural music in and around the capital.

Formed just six years ago, Wellington chamber choir Nota Bene has forged a reputation for vocal polish, stylistic versatility and eclectic programming. Under the direction of Christine Argyle, the choir performs a wide repertoire, from classical through to contemporary music and jazz.

Come and be part of our vibrant, family-friendly evening of celebration and song with traditional and contemporary music from around the world together with performances of new works written especially for the concert by Wellington composers Carol Shortis and John Rae.
